Live data

A resource database that can change when reality changes.

FieldCompass stores resources in a database instead of relying only on static pages. That makes the system easier to update, review, and expand.

What the database supports

  • Resource names, categories, addresses, phone numbers, websites, hours, rules, eligibility, notes, and location data.
  • Verification status so users can see which records have been reviewed.
  • Admin notes and update history concepts for future accountability.
  • Records that can be added, edited, flagged, or removed by approved users.

Why this matters

Public resources are only useful when they are accurate. A database-backed system makes it possible to keep improving the information without rebuilding the whole app every time a meal time, shelter rule, or contact detail changes.
